Why church media teams switch from Opus Clip

Opus Clip is a great tool — for podcasters. Churches have different needs, different budgets, and different workflows.

Sermon-aware AI

Opus Clip's clip detection is trained on podcasts and YouTube content. Our AI understands sermon structure — introductions, key teaching moments, illustrations, and altar calls. It finds the clips that matter to your congregation.

Church-sized pricing

Most church media teams are run by volunteers with tiny budgets. Opus Clip's pricing starts at $15/month for 150 mins — a single hour-long sermon blows past that. Sermon Clips starts at $9.99/week with no hard minute caps.

Multilingual from day one

30% of US churches have non-English speaking members. Captions auto-detect and match the language your sermon was preached in — Spanish, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, whatever your pulpit speaks. No extra setup required.

Frequently asked questions

Is Sermon Clips really free?

Yes — process your first full sermon for free and receive up to 5 clips. No credit card required. When you're ready to process more sermons, plans start at $9.99/week.

How is Sermon Clips different from Opus Clip for churches?

Opus Clip is excellent for podcasters and content creators, but its clip detection isn't trained on sermon content. Sermon Clips understands sermon structure — key teaching moments, illustrations, emotional peaks, altar calls — and checks the actual frames so a title card never opens a clip. Captions are word-timed, burned in, and match the language the sermon was preached in, with church-tier pricing.

What video formats do you support?

We accept MP4, MOV, AVI, and most common video formats, or you can paste a YouTube link — a YouTube Live archive works too. For Facebook or Vimeo, download the recording and upload the file; those platforms don't let us fetch the video directly.

Can I get captions in Spanish (or other languages)?

Captions automatically match the language the sermon was preached in — a Spanish sermon gets word-timed Spanish captions, a Korean sermon Korean captions, no setup. We don't translate captions into other languages.

Do I need video editing experience?

No. Sermon Clips is built for church media teams and volunteer communicators — not video editors. The AI does the work. You review, download, and post.

How many clips do I get per sermon?

Typically up to 5 clips per sermon. Each clip is trimmed at natural breakpoints with dead air removed, reframed for vertical video, captioned, and delivered with its own thumbnail.
